Mission Statement

Champions of Hope ignites change through art, unity, and the fight for fair pay.

Our Core Values

Accessible Activism

Every ticket, every step — it all adds up to real change.

Transparency

We keep it real about our work, our money, and our mission.

Integrity

We do what we say, even when no one’s watching.

Collaboration Over Competition

We lift each other up because there’s enough for everyone.

Fair Pay for Meaningful Work

Doing good should never mean going broke.

Unity

We create together, rise together, and move as one.

Our Story

“Champions of Hope started as someone planning a show for their friends. It quickly blossomed into a realization that bands and artists have considerable barriers when wanting to support important non-profit work in the community. I realized that most musicians face the difficulty of needing to be well established in order to be considered for a flat rate or they are left to play a set for free in order to raise money for a charity. Champions of Hope challenges this viewpoint by providing a platform for artists to raise money for important causes while making money with their hard-earned talents. We provide a platform for not only small bands to do something meaningful with their music but we also give audiences the chance to support these important causes with every ticket purchase.” — Jimmy Ortiz, Founder

The Band Behind the Mission

JARS is a collaborative project based in Vancouver, BC, consisting of Jimmy (Frontman/Rhythm guitarist), Shamus (Bass,) Rayne (Drums) and Caleb (Lead Guitar). We curate music using the vast array of tastes from each member. We like to call ourselves a Shoegaze Folk band, but we leave our music up for the audience to decide. Our music is guided by the principles of playfulness, experimentation with roots in traditional folk music. But don't trust us, listen for yourself!
